온타리오주의 조성훈 주의원이 재무차관보(Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Finance)에 임명됐습니다. 

어제 덕 포드 온주 수상은 조 의원을 포함 각부처 장관을 보좌하는 차관보 명단을 발표했습니다. 

이에 따라 조 의원은 요직으로 꼽히는 재무부에서 최근 내각 개편을 통해 새로 재무 장관에 오른 로드 필립스 장관을 보좌하게 됩니다. 

앞서 재정위원회 간사로, 피터 배스랜팔비를 도왔던 조 의원의 역량을 인정 받은 것으로 보입니다.  

조 의원은 중요한 임무를 맡게 돼 영광이라며 지금껏 지원해 준 부모님과 한인 사회에 감사를 전했습니다. 

조 의원은 150억달러의 적자를 해소해 균형 예산을 달성할 수 있도록 책임을 다하고 재정의 투명성을 위해 노력하겠다고 강조했습니다. 

이에 필립스 재무 장관은 조 의원과 함께 경제 회복을 위해 일할 준비가 됐다고 환영하고, 한인들도 축하 인사를 전했습니다.
